Tomato pappu/Tomao dal recipe

Tomato pappu recipe one of the popular vegetarain recipe in Andhra.This dish is very simple to make.Rice along with tomato pappu and ghee,mango avakai is the best combination.

Ingredients:

3/4 cup of toor dal(kandipappu)

2 to 3 tomatoes

2 to 3 green chilies

1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds

3 to 4 garlic pieces

1/4 teaspoon of cumin seeds 

1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder

1/2 teaspoon of red chilly powder 

Little amount of tamarind soaked in water

5 curry leaves

1/4 teaspoon of chana dal

1 dry red chilly

2 to 4 teaspoon oil

A pinch of hing

Salt as required


preparation::


First ,wash and soak the toor dal (kandipappu) for 1 hour.

Take the pressure cooker add kandipappu,green chilies,tomato pieces,salt turmeric powder, red chilly powder, little amount of tamarind and 1 to 1 1/2 of water.
And close the lid and cook for 3 whistles.

Now mash the dal.

Heat he oil in the pan add mustard seeds,cumin seeds,chana dal,curry leaves,broken red chilly,garlic pieces and a pinch of hing.


Add this mixture to pappu.

Now our delicious Tomato pappu ready to serve.
