Vermicelli Upma
Vermicelli upma is tasty and simple recipe and it is also takes less time to prepare .it is good breakfast recipe.
Ingredients:
2 cups vermicelli
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/2 teaspoon urad dal(minnapappu)
1/2 teaspoon chana dal
2 to 3 green chilies cut into pieces
8 curry leaves
1 onion ,finely chopped
1/4 cup of finely chopped carrot
A pinch of asafoetida
3 teaspoons of finely chopped coriander leaves
2 tablespoons of oil
Preparation:
Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds and allow them to crackle.
Add cumin seeds,urad dal,curry leaves , asafoetida and saute .
And also add onion and green chilly pieces and cook until onion becomes golden brown colour.
Now,add the salt and vermicelli saute well.
Add four cups of water ,cover and cook until vermicelli is done.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
